AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Georgia College Volleyball team (11-8, 4-3 PBC) made short work of Augusta University (17-5, 4-3 PBC) Tuesday, picking up a win at the Jaguars for the first time in program history.

The Bobcats were nothing short of dominant, taking the three sets 25-20, 25-19 and 25-18. The Bobcats took advantage of Augusta miscues all night, as the Jaguars had 27 attack errors, six service errors and three ball-handling errors.

Junior Emily Crowell (Horseheads, New York) led the balanced attack with 10 kills. Senior Taylor Svehla (Cumming) helped the scoring with eight kills and a team-high six total blocks.

Senior Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) had 27 assists with 17 digs. Brockway led the digging effort, as five tallied double-digits in the category. Sophomore Jordyn Moellering (Cumming) had 14, freshman Lauren Talele (Woodstock) 13 and both Libby Bochniak (Marietta) and Nicole Cohen (Atlanta) added 12 each.

The win was the first for Bobcat Volleyball in Augusta in six tries, and also gives GC Volleyball a season-series sweep of the Jaguars for the first time.

With her solo block tonight, Svehla snaps the single-season record for solo blocks in school history with 22. The previous mark of 21 was set by Bailey Freeman in the 2014 season.

The win puts Georgia College at 4-3 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play, tied for the most wins among the seven squads. The Bobcats have five more conference matches on the schedule.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., traveling to Flagler College.
