MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Women's Basketball team (5-13, 2-8 PBC) ran away from Augusta University (7-11, 4-6 PBC) in the second half, taking a 62-43 win Saturday at the Centennial Center.

Sophomore guard Harper Vick (Marietta) poured in a career-high 29 points, shooting 9-for-19 from the field and 3-for-7 from long range. She also hit all eight of her free-throw attempts. Her previous career-best was 20, set Jan. 15 against Young Harris College.

The Bobcats put on the defensive pressure in the second and third quarters, out-scoring the Jaguars 13-4 in the second and 24-8 in the third.

Freshman Jaycie Bowen (Homer) had a career game as well, coming a rebound shy of a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Senior Dail Adaway (Tifton) had a game-high 11 rebounds, pacing the Bobcats to take the rebounding battle 44-30.

The win snaps a seven-game slide for GC Women's Hoops, with the 43 points being the Bobcats' best defensive effort of the season. The last time the Bobcats gave up fewer was Feb. 4, 2019 in the 38-37 victory at Young Harris.

The Jaguars managed just one double-digit scorer, that being Kiera Howard with 10 points.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m., traveling to league-leader Lander University (15-3, 10-0 PBC). The Bearcats most recently beat USC Aiken at home today, 87-71.
