Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Georgia College Volleyball Team (5-5, 5-5 PBC) beat Young Harris College (0-9, 0-9 PBC) in four sets Saturday in the Centennial Center.
The Bobcats took the first set in double-digit fashion with the 13 point margin at 25-12. GC had a total of 12 kills and were able to capitalize on some Mountain Lion miscues to take set number one. The second set went to Young Harris in a close four-point win at 25-21. GC bounced back in the third set taking it with a 16 point lead at 25-9. The fourth and final set went to the Bobcats to close the match at a nail-biting 25-22. GC had a match high of 19 kills to finish off Young Harris.
"Today was a good test for our team," Coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "We pushed through some adversity and I'm proud of how this team came out on top."
Senior Libby Bochniak (Marietta) brought the thunder in tonight's match with yet another double-double. Bochniak had 14 kills to lead the offense as well putting up a solid 19 digs.
Lauren Talele (Woodstock) made sure her Bobcats came out on top by assisting her teammates 46 times tonight. The junior also snagged herself a double-double by adding 12 digs to her scorecard.
The Bobcat attack was strong, with three in double-digit kills on the night. Joining Bochniak was senior Emma Boughner (Bogart) and junior Sarah Mangan (Farmingville, New York) with 10 apiece. Mangan also had a team-high five blocks.
Jordyn Moellering (Cumming) was dominant on defense in the match earning herself 37 digs, a season high. This gives her the most digs in a four-set match in school history, passing former Bobcat Ella Anastasiades (2015) who had 31 against Columbus State University on Sept. 30, 2014. Junior Morgan Overly (St. Simons Island) added 16 digs to the cause. She, Moellering and Talele recorded two service aces apiece.
