2023-24 schedule has been unveiled

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- Georgia College & State University men's basketball head coach Ryan Aquino announced the 2023-24 schedule. 

Much like the previous season, GCSU has a heavy road schedule as they will not play at home until the start of Peach Belt Conference play in January. The Bobcats start their season Nov. 11 in Dahlonega, Georgia, for a tournament where they will play Limestone University. They will conclude their tournament appearance the following day against North Greenville University.

GCSU will continue their road trip into December with a key contest against Emmanuel (Ga.) University Dec. 6. The Lions finished the 2022-23 season in the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament after claiming the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship. 

The Bobcats will kick off PBC play on the road with Columbus State University Jan. 3.The first home game will come Jan. 6 against the University of South Carolina-Aiken. The Pacers concluded last season in the NCAA Southeast Region championship game after claiming the regular season co-champion for the PBC. GCSU will host the University of South Carolina-Beaufort in their inaugural season Jan. 17. The Bobcats will conclude their January schedule with a home game against the defending PBC tournament champions Augusta University Jan. 31. The Jaguars also held the regular season co-champion title with USCA and ended their season in the NCAA Regional Tournament. 

The Bobcats will kick off the month of February with the Pacers on the road Feb. 3. The Bobcats will face the University of North Georgia in Milledgeville Feb. 7. The Nighthawks brought their season to a close in the NCAA Regional Tournament. Much like January, GCSU will conclude the February slate with Augusta Feb. 28 on the road. Georgia College will end the regular season with a home contest with Columbus State March 3. 

GCSU returns all four of their leading scorers -  Brendan Rigsbee, Zyair Greene, Luke Chism, and Austin Sloan. Rigsbee averaged 12.11 points per game last season to lead the team. Despite both facing injuries, Green and Chism where the team's next leading scorers with 10.7 and 10.6 points per game. Sloan rounded out the leading scorers with 9.3 points per game.
