MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Volleyball fell to the conference topping Lander University Bearcats in three sets at home.
The Bobcats fell to 14-14 and 1-9 in Peach Belt Conference play while the Bearcats improved to 26-3 and 10-0 in conference play. The Bobcats are back in action Thursday Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. with a road match against the University of South Carolina-Aiken.
Despite the loss
Mary Kate Kotzin had an outstanding game in the kills category as she led the team with nine.
Camryn Carlton had a a successful game hitting as well picking up the team's season most kills on the night with eight.
Rachel Machovec was the third kill leader with seven.
Riese Johnson, who was recognized for her 1,000 career assists before the game, led the team with 26 assists on the night.
On the defensive side of things, GCSU had two players with seven digs to lead the defensive effort in
Kyeli Hazzard and
Callie Miller.
Olivia Alvarez had the second most digs with five.
Brooke Roberts and Carlton led the blocking effort with three block assists each.
