NINETY SIX, S.C. | The Georgia College & State University men's golf team began play Monday (Oct. 20) at the Patriot Fall Classic hosted by Lander University.
The action was halted due to darkness with each team having a couple of holes to play in the second round. Teams will complete their second rounds at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 21) and will go right into their final rounds in the 54-hole event.
The Bobcats shot 303 in the opening round on the par 72, 7,054-yard layout on the Patriot Golf Course at Grand Harbor to stand in 18th place. Wingate University leads the tournament after 18 holes with a 277 tally.
Andy Scott and
Hank Holcomb are the top GCSU golfers in the field in a tie for 55th place after recording rounds of 75, while
Matthew Rogers is tied for 76th after a 76.
Jack Hutcheson signed for a 77 and is tied for 84th, while
Chase Blanton posted an 80 and is tied for 99th place.
