MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University women's basketball's Deshona Gaither has been named the Zaxbys Player of the Week ending Dec. 7.

Gaither, a senior guard from Commerce, Georgia, averaged 17.0 points and 6.3 rebounds in three games last week for the Bobcats. She had nine points each against LaGrange College and the University of South Carolina-Beaufort before breaking out with a career-high 33 points in a 57-55 overtime win at Shorter University. She connected on 10-of-19 field goals and was 13-of-17 from the free throw line against the Hawks, while pulling down eight rebounds to go along with three steals and two assists.

GCSU returns to action Dec. 31 when they host Fort Valley State University inside the Centennial Center at 1 p.m.
