James Nichols III has been named the Zaxbys Player of the Week.
Nichols, a junior from Deerfield Beach, Florida, averaged 19.0 points and 5.0 rebounds as the Bobcats split a pair of Peach Belt Conference games last week. Nichols also shot 70 percent (14-of-20) from the percent, including 60 percent (3-of-5) from long distance.
Nichols scored a career-high 34 points in a 100-81 win over Clayton State University. Nichols was nearly perfect as he hit 12-of-13 shots from the field, including a perfect 3-for-3 from long distance, for the Bobcats. Nichols, who registered four assists, went 7-of-9 from the charity stripe and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.Â
GCSU returns to action Wednesday (Jan. 28) when they face the newest member in the PBC - Middle Georgia State University - in a 7:30 p.m. contest in Cochran, Georgia.
