Oldfield Classic suspended in second round

OKATIE, S.C. | The second round of the Oldfield Classic hosted by the University of South Carolina-Beaufort was suspended due to darkness Monday (Feb. 23) evening.

The 54-hole event was delayed at the start by 75 minutes due to frost and they were only able to complete the first round.

Georgia College & State University was in 16th place after the opening 18 holes after shooting 325 on the par 72, 7,142-yard layout at the Oldfield Golf Club. Wingate University leads the tournament at 294, six strokes better Georgia Southwestern State University.

Andrew Lutjens is the top Bobcat in the field after a 78 and is tied for 34th place. Jack Hutcheson added a 79 and is tied for 47th, Matthew Rogers carded an 82 and is tied for 65th. Jacob Speece fired an 85 and is tied 85th, while Andy Scott signed for an 87 and is in 87th place.

Most teams have eight holes remaining to complete in the second round Tuesday (Feb. 24) beginning at 9:30 a.m. and will immediately head into their final round after that.
