ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | Georgia College & State University teed off its men's golf season Monday (Feb. 9) at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate hosted by Lincoln Memorial University.
The Bobcats shot rounds of 316 and 321 to stand in 17th place at 637 after 36 holes on the par 72, 7,136-yard layout on the St. Johns Golf & Country Club. The tournament, which features 11 ranked teams in the top 50 in NCAA Division II by Scoreboard. St. Mary's (Texas) University, which is ranked No. 8, is in first place at 574, nine strokes clear of No. 18 University of North Georgia.
Andrew Lutjens is the top Bobcat in the field as he is tied for 50th place at 154 after rounds of 75 and 79, while
Jacob Speece is tied for 70th at 157 after scorecards of 77 and 80.
Andy Scott is tied for 87th at 161, while
Hunter Phillips was tied for 95th place at 167.
Chase Blanton was in 97th at 168. Scott has rounds of 79 and 82, while Phillips shot 87 and 80, and Blanton fired an 85 and an 83.
The 54-hole tournament concludes Tuesday (Feb. 10) with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
