Karlie Gutierrez has been named the Peach Belt Conference Softball Player of the Week ending April 5.
Gutierrez, a junior from Newnan, Georgia, batted .667 (10-of-15) in five games last week for the Bobcats, who went 5-0 during the week. Gutierrez, who was also named the Zaxbys Player of the Week, had two doubles and drove in seven runs to go along with six runs scored and four stolen bases. Gutierrez, who slugged .800 for the week and had a .700 on-base percentage, was walked once and hit by pitch three times.
The Bobcats, who are currently on a seven-game winning streak, returns to the Bobcat Softball Field Tuesday (April 7) for a 3 p.m. non-conference doubleheader against Clark Atlanta University.
