MORROW, Ga. - The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced the 2009 women's tennis all-conference team last night (April 17) at a banquet at Clayton State University, host of the PBC Championships. Georgia College & State University had one player make the squad.

The Bobcats' Marjorie Ceppo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) made the All-PBC Second Team. This is the second year in a row that a Bobcat has made the All-Conference squad as Celine Martin was named to the team last year. The All-PBC honor is also the second in Ceppo's career, as she was selected all-conference in doubles for teaming with Martin in 2007.

Ranked No. 47 in the nation, Ceppo went 9-8 in singles action in 2008, including a 5-5 PBC mark, all at first singles. She finished strong, going 6-4 in her final 10 matches of the regular season.

The all-conference team was expanded this year and with double the number of award winners split into a first and second team. In all, 25 women's tennis players were honored due to a tie for the final spot in second team singles. The team was selected by the league's head coaches who were not permitted to vote for their own players.

The Bobcats toppled Georgia Southwestern Friday, and advance to the second round to square off against No. 3-seed and national No. 8 Francis Marion University today, April 18 at 11:30 a.m.
