The Bobcats started off strong in doubles action as the fierce French duo of Diane Danna (Paris) and Bertille Lion (Lyon, France) downed the No. 2 ranked pair of Tereza Sykorova and Sabina Baberadova 9-7. This was the first ranked duo for Danna and Lion to have beaten this season. Georgia College's first doubles team improved to 5-2 for the season, evening out their conference record at 2-2.

At second doubles, Bobcat freshmen Kayla Barksdale (Martinez, Ga.) and Michelle Lingner (Dunwoody, Ga.) surrendered 8-4 to Jitka Gavdunova and Mona Blauen. Giving the 'Cats a 2-1 advantage after doubles, Ariana Acuna (Peachtree City, Ga.) and Linda Mosa (Stockholm, Sweden) overwhelmed Kerry Hall and Karine Augur 8-2. This was the first doubles win for Acuna and Mosa for the 2010 campaign.

In singles action, Georgia College struggled as No. 6 Sykorova swept Danna 6-4 and 6-4 in the first slot. Despite splitting the first two sets with 6-3 scores, No. 26 Gavdunova blanked Barksdale 6-0 in the third set. At third singles, Lion lost 7-5 and 6-0 against No. 8 Baberadova. Lingner fell 6-2 and 6-3 to Blauen, while Mosa suffered the same fate against Hall in the No. 5 spot. Acuna continued her day of firsts, picking up her first singles victory for the season, shutting out Augur in two 6-0 sets.

The 'Cats are back in action this weekend, traveling to Savannah, Ga. Saturday, March 6 to take on No. 2 Lynn University and then on to No. 23 Flagler College Sunday, March 7.
