Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Georgia College baseball team (25-15, 15-7 PBC) took a pair of games at Augusta State University (12-31, 3-23 PBC) Saturday 16-7 and 7-5.

The Bobcats rallied from an early 5-0 hole, scoring in six of the final seven innings to take the win.

Designated hitter Cody Maas (Alpharetta, Ga.) drove in four runs, going 3-for-5 with two runs. Second baseman Jeremy Donaldson (Winder, Ga.) ripped a two-run home run, his sixth of the season. Shortstop Tanner Funk (Kearney, Mo.) and centerfielder Patrick Daugherty (Kennesaw, Ga.) each had three hits, Daugherty driving in two and scoring a pair, while Funk scored two runs and plated another.

First baseman Clay Ardeeser (Loganville, Ga.) was 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI, and rightfielder Bryce Williams (Manhattan, Kan.) rounded out the multi-hit performers at 3-for-6, hitting a triple and scoring a run while driving in another.

Reliever John Clark (Duluth, Ga.) benefitted from the onslaught, picking up his first career victory (1-0) throwing 4 1/3 innings of shutout ball and fanning six.

It was GC with the early advantage in game two, scoring in each of the first four frames.

Maas hit a home run as part of a 2-for-5 effort, driving in four and scoring a pair. Maas now has a team-high eight home runs, good for third in the PBC. Daugherty went 3-for-5 with two runs and catcher Benton Yaun (Marietta, Ga.) finished 2-for-4 with an RBI, both of his hits doubles.

Lefty starter Mike Guinane (Glenview, Ill.) improved to 2-6, somehow scattering 11 hits for just three runs over seven innings. Junior righty Zack Hula (Kennesaw, Ga.) threw the final two innings for his fifth save, allowing a pair to score.

The wins make GC 15-7 in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) maintaining the hold on first place in the PBC West. The Bobcats' .682 win percentage tops second-place University of Montevallo (.577). The Bobcats have clinched a PBC Tournament spot, as they are 12 games ahead of fifth place and the top four make the tourney.

The Bobcats and Jaguars finish the series tomorrow, April 15 at 1 p.m.
