Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College & State University Baseball team (1-5) fell victim to the big inning in a 13-3 loss to Florida Southern College (5-4) Saturday at John Kurtz Field.
The Mocs jumped in front with five runs in the first, including a grand slam from Mitch Donofrio. Another three came across in the sixth, with four more in the seventh. At that point the Bobcats trailed 12-1.
For the Bobcats, designated hitter Jaxon Weatherford (Charleston, South Carolina) was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Rightfielder Brandon Bellflower (Milledgeville) added a solo home run in the sixth, his first of the year.
The loss went to senior lefty Luc Scudellari (Roswell) in five innings of work. He is now 0-1 on the season. Lefty reliever Reid Robertson (Marietta) closed out the game strong, allowing a single run over the final 2 2/3 innings.
The Bobcats and Mocs close out the three-game set tomorrow, Feb. 19 at noon.
