Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University Baseball team (1-6) couldn't get much going offensively in a 9-1 loss to Florida Southern College (6-4) Sunday at John Kurtz Field.
The Mocs got the scoring started with three in the second frame, but the Bobcats answered back with a run in the bottom half. There, third baseman Ben Tuten (Bristol) led off with a single up the middle, after a stolen base and a pair of outs, second baseman Palmer Sapp (Dawsonville) plated Tuten with a clutch single to center.
That would be it for the Bobcat offense, however. As the tough FSC pitching held GCSU hitless outside that second inning.
Freshman John Luke Glanton (Metter) went one inning to take the loss (0-1). Senior righty Trey Felt (Lawrenceville) provided some strong work to keep the game close, spinning four innings with two runs and three strikeouts.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m., hosting Newberry College.
