MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Freshman righty John Luke Glanton (Metter) had an outstanding performance last week, garnering the rookie both Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Freshman of the Week and Bobcat Athlete of the Week Honors.
Glanton dazzled in his first career PBC start, helping the Bobcats take a series-deciding game Sunday from conference leader USC Aiken. Glanton went seven innings with just a single run on a walk and six hits. He struck out seven. His previous long outing was 2 1/3 innings.
This is the first PBC weekly honor for Glanton, and the third for GCSU Baseball this season. Glanton joins fellow righthander John Raines (Powder Springs) from Feb. 27 and outfielder Evan Cowan (Richmond Hill) from March 20.
The Bobcats are back in action today at the University of West Georgia, starting at 5 p.m.
