Geza Martiny’s coaching resume is massive, including NAIA Women’s Gymnastics National Championships in 1981 and 1982, which remain the school’s only national titles in any sport. He was named the National Coach of the Year in each of those two seasons.

He also earned an AIAW Women’s Gymnastics Coach of the Year trophy and was the 1977 Kellogg’s Women’s Gymnastics Coach of the Year as well. His teams won three Georgia Intercollegiate Athletic Association (GIAC) State Championships, and was largely responsible for lobbying Milledgeville as the host site for the Gymnastics National Championships for multiple years, complete with live national coverage from ESPN.

A fixture at Georgia College for 30-plus years, Martiny also coached men’s soccer, numerous club sports and taught.
