Thomas competed for the Colonials in gymnastics from 1987-91,aiding the squad to an NAIA National Championship in 1988. AnAll-American four times over, Thomas picked up one NAIA nationalhonor in the all-around in 1988 before GCSU joined Division IIgymnastics. In 1989, she won All-American honors in the all-aroundand the beam while qualifying for the national championships as anindividual in the all-around. She won all-around All-Americanhonors again in 1990, and was an important member of the 1991 GCgymnastics team that qualified for nationals, finishing second inthe region.
